The procedure for lip blushing typically involves two appointments, spaced approximately 4 to 6 weeks apart, allowing for proper healing between sessions. Here’s an overview of what to expect during the process:

1. Initial appointment: The first session will last around 2 – 2.5 hours, although the exact duration may vary based on individual factors and the areas being treated. During this appointment, we will apply a topical anesthetic to numb your lips, reducing any pain or discomfort during the procedure. While waiting for the numbing agent to take effect, we will discuss your desired lip shape and tone, ensuring you’re both on the same page. Any necessary sketches will be presented for your approval.

2. Pigment application: Once your lips are sufficiently numbed, we will use small needles to insert a natural-looking pigment into your lips. This is done in multiple layers to achieve an even tone and desired color. The process can take between 1.5 – 2 hours​ or longer, depending on the specific look you’re aiming for.

3. Swelling and aftercare: After the procedure, it’s common for your lips to experience swelling. As lip blushing is a form of tattooing, it’s important to follow the provided aftercare guide to ensure optimal healing and results. This may include instructions on proper cleansing, moisturizing, and avoiding certain activities or products to protect the treated area.

A touch-up appointment is highly recommended to enhance the results and make any necessary color adjustments in areas where the skin may not have retained the pigment. During this session, we will refine the shape, color, and make any minor adjustments as needed.

Touch-up pricing is as follows:

• Within the 1st month: Free of charge (1st session)
• Within 6 months: 40% off (1 session)
• Within 12 months: 30% off (1 session)
• After 12 months: 10% off (2 sessions)

Please note that if you had previous work done by another artist, it will be priced as an initial session.

Before Your Arrival

• Avoid blood thinners to prevent excessive bleeding.
• Refrain from consuming alcoholic beverages 48 hours before the procedure.
• Avoid caffeine on the day of the procedure.
• Do not take pain relievers unless directed by your physician.
• Stop taking fish oil or biotin one week prior to the appointment.

It is recommended that you shower before your procedure.

Aftercare

Absorb:

• Gently blot the treated area with a clean tissue every 5 minutes for the full day to absorb excess lymph fluid. This helps prevent the hardening of lymphatic fluids.

Moisturize:

• Apply a small amount of aftercare ointment with a cotton swab and spread it across the treated area. Keep the lips constantly moisturized. Apply the ointment multiple times a day to prevent dryness. Be careful not to over-apply, as it can delay healing. The ointment should be barely noticeable on the skin. Avoid applying the ointment to a wet or damp tattoo.

Additional Aftercare Instructions:

• Avoid spicy and salty foods, as well as direct contact with food or drinks on the treated area for two days.
• Use straws when drinking liquids and a fork when eating to avoid touching the lips directly.
• Refrain from eating foods that require wide mouth opening, such as hamburgers.
• Use disposable ice packs as needed to reduce swelling.
• Wash your hands before touching the treated area. Some itching is normal, but avoid picking, peeling, scratching, as it may lead to uneven healing, scarring, or infection.
• Do not apply makeup until all scabs have healed and fallen off.

Healing Timeline

Day 1: Lips will be swollen, tender, and hot. They may appear as though you’re wearing vivid lipstick and feel very dry. Constant moisturization is necessary.

Day 2: Less swelling, but still tight and dry. Swelling may reduce unevenly, causing the pigment to look uneven.

Day 3-4: Further reduction in swelling, and the color will still appear vibrant. Skin will begin to peel, revealing a lighter color underneath. Avoid picking or peeling. Lip color beneath peeling skin will appear very light.

Day 5-10: Lips will feel chapped and dry. Continue to moisturize. Peeling should be complete during this period. The color will appear soft, and may even seem to disappear or become frosty. This is normal.

Day 14-20: Color will start to “bloom” and gradually reappear day by day. Keep the lips well moisturized.

Day 21-28: Healing is complete. The color you see is the color you will retain.

How long does it take to recover?
Complete healing usually takes approximately 2 to 4 weeks, but you can resume many activities immediately after the procedure. For the next 2 to 4 weeks, it’s recommended to avoid excessive sun exposure and vigorous exercise to facilitate proper healing.

How should I prepare for the procedure?
To achieve optimal results, it’s important to prepare your lips beforehand. Refrain from any other lip treatments, such as injections or chemical peels, at least 4 weeks before your lip blushing appointment. Regularly moisturize your lips and avoid alcohol, caffeine, and exercise 48 hours prior to the procedure.

How should I care for my lips post-procedure?
After the initial treatment, your lips will appear darker than the desired color. This is normal, as the color will fade to a more natural shade over time. It’s common to experience scabbing, but avoid picking at the scabs or dry skin to prevent disruption of the color. Proper lip care involves using a tattoo aftercare ointment, protecting your lips from excessive sun exposure, and keeping them moisturized for 30 days following the lip blushing procedure.

Please note that the following conditions and guidelines apply to various procedures, including Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP), Scar Reduction Skin Camouflage, Eyebrow Embroidery & Microblading, Lip Blushing (Color Correction), and Korean Eyeliner Embroidery:

We are unable to perform Semi-Permanent Makeup if any of the following conditions exist:

• Pregnant or breastfeeding.
• Non-compliant diabetes. It is essential to heal well and adhere to your doctor’s recommended diet and medication.
• If you are currently using Accutane or other strong retinoids (after 6 months, it is allowed).
• If you have sunburn on the treatment area.
• If less than 48 – 72 hours have passed since waxing.

Semi-Permanent Makeup is not recommended if you have any of the following conditions or symptoms on the treatment area:

• Skin diseases such as eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, scabies, ringworm, acne, allergic reactions, boils, wounds, severe scaling keratosis, or damaged capillaries.
• If you have undergone a strong chemical peel, dermabrasion, immunotherapy, or any other intense skin resurfacing treatment. The skin needs to be free from irritation and should be stopped 2 – 3 weeks before any treatment.

Moles do not retain pigment, so they will still remain after the procedure. Your technician will work around the area.

If you have any allergies, it is important to notify your technician as numbing agents are used during the procedure.

Inform your technician if you have previously had any type of treatment done to the treatment area. For optimal results, any previous permanent makeup should be very faded or almost undetectable. If there are still green, blue, or red tones from past botched permanent makeup procedures, it is recommended to have it removed by laser from a trained professional before attempting any treatment. You can send a picture to your technician to help determine the severity.

To maintain a sterile environment and ensure patented techniques are followed, no other person or animal is allowed in the room during the procedure.

To secure an appointment, a retainer fee of $100 is required, which will be deducted from the total service cost. This is to respect our time and prevent “no-shows.”

Failure to inform us of any of the above conditions before your appointment will result in the forfeiture of your retainer. We prioritize your safety and aim to achieve the best results and satisfaction.

Please keep in mind the following important reminders for Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP), Scar Reduction Skin Camouflage, Eyebrow Embroidery & Microblading, Lip Blushing (Color Correction), and Korean Eyeliner Embroidery:

• Use a fresh pillowcase while you sleep to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
• You may apply a clean ice pack, protected with a paper towel or cloth, for 10-minute intervals during the first 48 hours to help reduce swelling or discomfort.
• Avoid rubbing, picking, or scratching the treated area. Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate. It is normal to feel itchy, but scratching or picking can lead to scarring or loss of color.
• Refrain from wearing makeup on the treated area for 7 days to allow for proper healing.
• Avoid facials, , chemical treatments, or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks after the procedure to prevent any interference with the healing process.
• Steer clear of hot, sweaty exercise for one week to avoid excessive sweating in the treated area.
• Protect the treated area from direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks following the procedure. Wear a hat when outdoors to shield the area from the sun.
• Avoid taking long, hot showers for the first 10 days to prevent the treated area from being exposed to excessive heat or steam.
• Refrain from sleeping on your face for the first 10 days to avoid putting pressure on the treated area.
• Avoid face-down swimming, lakes, and hot tubs for the first 10 days as water exposure may affect the healing process.
• Do not apply topical makeup or sunscreen directly on the treated area during the healing process.

Remember that following the proper preparation and aftercare routine is crucial for achieving optimal results with your semi-permanent makeup procedure.

Important Note about Showering: During showers, limit the steam exposure to your face by keeping your treatment area out of the water while washing your body. Towards the end of your shower, you can wash your hair, allowing some water to gently touch your face. Avoid excessive rinsing and hot water on the treated area.

Please be aware that in extreme cases, prolonged exposure to chlorine, exfoliation creams, or direct sunlight can cause colors to fade.

Failure to follow the post-procedure instructions may result in pigment loss, discoloration, or infection. Refunds are not offered for services that have already been performed.
