What to expect as a model
What a model session involves
Model sessions are part of supervised training, so they work differently from a regular paid appointment. Please read the details below before applying.
What you get
- A complimentary treatment or a treatment with a small materials fee, depending on the service
- A trainer supervising the practical work throughout the session
- A treatment session held in our working studio
- The option to pause, ask questions or stop the session at any time
- The option to apply for future model sessions when suitable training dates are available
If you enjoy modelling, you are welcome to apply again when a suitable training session is available.
What you're accepting
- Training appointments can take longer than regular appointments; allow around four to five hours for the longer treatments
- The person working on you is learning
- Results can vary because the treatment is being performed as part of supervised training
- You need to lie still and be patient
- Some treatments carry an S$80 materials fee
Model appointments are primarily for supervised training, so they are not suitable when you need a specific result for an important date or event. In that situation, a regular paid appointment may be more appropriate.

Important
Not everyone can be a model
Every treatment has its own suitability and safety requirements. We review these before confirming a model session, so please provide accurate information when you apply.
General checks before we confirm a model
You cannot be accepted as a treatment model if any of the following apply:
- Pregnancy — pregnant applicants cannot take part as treatment models.
- Active skin, eye or scalp infection in the treatment area.
- Broken, irritated or actively inflamed skin in the treatment area.
- Known allergy or previous reaction to products used for the planned treatment.
Other suitability requirements depend on the treatment itself. Please read the treatment-specific checks below and tell us about any relevant medical condition, medication or previous treatment when you apply.
Lash treatments — extensions, lifts and tints
- Existing lash extensions may need to be removed before the model session; for some training sessions we may ask for them to be removed at least two weeks beforehand
- Natural lashes should be healthy and undamaged, without excessive kinks or curl
- No known allergy to lash extension, lifting or tinting products
- No active eye infection, conjunctivitis, stye or recent eye surgery
- Eyes should not be excessively sensitive or dry for the planned treatment
Brow, lip and eyeliner embroidery
- Existing semi-permanent work should be shown to us in a clear photo before a session is confirmed
- Very oily or very sensitive skin can affect whether microblading is suitable and may change the technique recommended
- Eczema, psoriasis, keratosis pilaris, dermatitis or active acne in the treatment area may make brow embroidery unsuitable
- Pregnancy: please wait until after delivery for semi-permanent makeup model sessions
- Autoimmune conditions, uncontrolled diabetes, a history of keloid or raised scarring, or other conditions that may affect healing must be declared before a session is confirmed
- Lips: if you have a history of cold sores, let us know before the session so suitability and pre-care can be discussed
- Eyeliner: lash extensions must be removed and contact lenses cannot be worn during the treatment
Skin and scalp — SMP and scar camouflage
- SMP: the current model requirements exclude cancer patients, people with diabetes or anaemia, pregnant women, and anyone with active scalp acne or psoriasis
- Scar camouflage: the area should be fully healed. The current model guidance says scars or discolouration should have been present for at least six months, with nine months or longer preferred for scars
- Scar camouflage: flat scars are the best candidates; raised scars are less suitable
- Scar camouflage: freckles, age spots, spider veins, port-wine birthmarks, hyperpigmentation and unstable vitiligo are listed as unsuitable on our current model guidance
These checks are used before a model session is confirmed. If you are unsure whether a condition applies to you, include it in your application so we can review suitability first.
