Anyone who is experiencing thinning hair or hair loss is a candidate for scalp micro pigmentation. Far too often, people assume that SMP is only an option for bald men. While a scalp tattoo is a great solution for a man who is suffering from pattern baldness or permanent hair loss, it’s also an option for women as well. You may be a candidate for scalp pigmentation if:
- You have been diagnosed with Alopecia Areata.
- You have started to notice the signs of pattern baldness.
- You have a receding hair line.
- You have bald patches or thinning hair.
- You are going through cancer treatments.
If you feel that you may be a good candidate for scalp micropigmentation, and are interested in becoming our model, kindly have the form filled in.
Who can’t get hair micropigmentation done?
- Cancer patients.
- Diabetics.
- Anemia patients.
- Pregnant women.
- People who have acne on their scalp.
- Psoriasis patients.
How do you know if you’re a good candidate for camouflage tattooing? While this procedure is generally effective, it doesn’t work on all skin types. Those who are suitable candidates have scars or discolorations on parts of their skin that aren’t usually exposed to the sun. Since skin exposed to sunlight changes color, this can make camouflage tattooing less effective. The tattooed skin won’t change color to match the skin around it.
Good candidates also have scars or discolorations that have been there for at least six months. This helps ensure effectiveness and a lower risk of reactions to the pigments that are used during this procedure. Ideal candidates have healed scars that are a minimum of nine months old. When camouflage tattooing is done on scars that aren’t fully healed, this can lead to more damage to the skin.
Other factors that good candidates have include:
- Flat scars: Tattooing won’t eliminate the appearance of raised scars, but it can be effective at hiding flat ones. This procedure also works better on smooth scars rather than rougher ones.
- No dark edges: Good candidates have scars that do not have dark edges around them. Undergoing camouflage tattooing on scars with dark edges can result in even darker pigmentation.
Those with the following conditions are not suitable candidates for scar camouflage:
- Freckles
- Age spots
- Spider veins
- Port wine birthmarks
- Hyperpigmentation
- Unstable vitiligo
Eyebrow embroidery isn’t for everyone? Based on your skin or health conditions, you may not be suitable. Oily skin tends to cause strokes to blur, giving off unwanted solid effect instead of a feathered look. Sensitive skin tends to bleed and hence not suitable.
Skin prone to eczema, psoriasis, keratosis pilaris, and dermatitis, your is constantly flaking, and itching and won’t hold the pigment strokes well. Microshading would be a better choice.
Expecting mothers are advised to proceed only after delivery preferably. Persons with autoimmune diseases must refrain from choosing microblading altogether. In case of doubt, be safe, seek medical advice from a doctor.
This is a suitable treatment for almost anyone who wants to enhance their eyebrows’ appearance. However, some factors can affect the outcome of the treatment. Here are some things to consider when deciding if you are a good candidate for brow lamination:
- Thick, unruly eyebrows: If you have thick or unruly eyebrows, brow lamination can help to tame them and keep them in place.
- Sparse brows: If you have thin or sparse brows, brow lamination can help to create the illusion of fullness.
- Asymmetrical brows: If your brows are asymmetrical, brow lamination can help to create a more balanced and even look.
- Straight brows: If you have straight brows, brow lamination can help to create a more defined arch.
However, there are some cases when you may not be a good candidate, such as if you have:
- Sensitive skin: If you have sensitive skin, the chemicals used in brow lamination may cause irritation.
- Skin conditions: If you have skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis, this service may worsen your symptoms.
- Allergies: If you have allergies to the chemicals used in brow lamination, it’s best to avoid this treatment.
- Recent surgeries or injuries: If you have had recent surgeries or injuries around your eye area, it’s best to wait until you have fully healed before getting this service.
Who are good candidates for BB Glow?
Good candidates include people with:
- Dull, uneven skin texture
- Freckles
- Hyperpigmentation
- Post acne scars
- Age spots and sun spots
- Early aging and lax skin
- Wrinkles and fine lines
What are some contraindications?
BB Glow is not recommended for those with the following conditions:
- Pregnant or nursing
- Skin cancer
- Skin disease
- Active infections or open wounds
- Accutane or any medication for the same purpose within the past 6 months
- Individual intolerance or allergies to the ingredients
- Patients with melanoma or other skin lesions
- injectable fillers within the last 2 weeks
- Patients on blood thinners
- Patients who are immunosuppressed due to potential for increased post needling infection
Proceed with caution if any of these apply to you:
- History of cold sores or fever blisters. Taking an anti-viral medication may help to avoid a possible breakout. The medication should be used 2 days before and 2 days after treatment.
- Smoker (due to lipid peroxidation)
- Uncontrolled diabetes, as potential delayed wound healing may increase risk of secondary infection post-needling
- Keloid or raised scars
- Active acne breakouts
