Lip Blushing & Colour Correction
Soft, even colour worked into the lips themselves — not a drawn-on line. It evens out patchy or naturally dark lip tone, adds definition where the border has softened, and leaves you looking like you're wearing a very good tinted balm, permanently.
- Shade agreed with you before we start
- Single-use needles, every time
- Correction for naturally dark lips

Lip blush: colour, mapping and finish
See the treatment from shape planning and colour correction through to the finished result.

What it actually is
Colour in the lip, not a line around it
Pigment is worked into the body of the lip in fine, layered passes. The result is a soft wash of colour that follows your own lip shape, rather than the hard outlined look of older lip tattooing.
It does two jobs. It evens out lips that are naturally patchy or darker at the edges — a very common concern, and the harder half of the work. And it restores definition to a lip border that has softened with age.
Lips are the most technically difficult area we work on. Lip tissue takes pigment unpredictably, natural tone varies enormously, and the shade you see on day one is not the shade you'll live with. That's why it costs more than brows and why the consultation matters.

Honest assessment
Is this right for you?
Lip blushing is not suitable in every situation, so please read the suitability information carefully before booking.
This will likely work well for you
- Your lips are patchy, uneven, or darker at the edges than the centre
- You wear tinted balm or lipstick daily and want to stop
- Your lip border has softened with age
- You want colour that survives eating, drinking and a whole day
- Your lips are generally healthy with no active dryness or cracking
Naturally dark lips are very much workable — correction is part of the S$350 and it's a large part of what we do. Expect two sessions rather than one.
Let's talk first, or wait
- You get cold sores. The procedure can trigger an outbreak — speak to your doctor about antiviral medication beforehand
- You're pregnant or breastfeeding
- You've had lip filler in the last 4 weeks, or plan to have it within 4 weeks after
- You've taken Accutane or oral retinoids in the past 12 months
- You have an autoimmune condition, diabetes, or are undergoing chemotherapy
- Your lips are currently dry, cracked or broken
The procedure can trigger a cold sore outbreak. If you have a history of cold sores, please speak with your doctor beforehand and let us know before your appointment.
On the day
What actually happens
Two to two and a half hours, with more time on shade selection than most people expect.
Consultation & shade
We assess your natural tone and undertone in daylight and choose a pigment. On darker lips we plan the correction layer. This takes longer than it does for brows and it's the part that decides your result.
Outline & your approval
We map the shape and you approve it in the mirror. Nothing permanent starts until you say yes.
Numbing, then pigment
Numbing goes on and is topped up during the procedure. Lips are more sensitive than brows — most clients describe it as tolerable rather than comfortable. Colour is built in layers.
Aftercare briefing
We brief you on swelling, flaking and the shade change before you leave. Lips are the treatment where aftercare matters most, so message us on WhatsApp if anything concerns you.
The full detail
Before, during and after
Everything you'd want to know, tucked away so it's here when you need it and out of the way when you don't.
Before your appointment
If you've ever had a cold sore — read this first
The procedure can trigger an outbreak even if you haven't had one in years. Speak to your doctor about antiviral medication, typically started a few days before and continued after. Tell us when you book, not on the day.
The week before
- Exfoliate your lips gently and moisturise heavily every day. Well-hydrated lips take pigment far more evenly.
- No lip filler within 4 weeks either side of the appointment
- Avoid retinol and acids near the lip line
The 24–48 hours before
- No alcohol for 24 hours; no caffeine that morning
- Avoid blood thinners for 48 hours unless prescribed — never stop prescribed medication without your doctor
- Please eat beforehand. Eating is awkward for a few hours afterwards.
Aftercare — lips are less forgiving than brows
Days 1–3
- Keep them moist at all times with the ointment we give you. Lips that dry out crack, and cracks take pigment with them. This is the single most important instruction.
- Blot gently with a clean tissue, don't wipe
- Drink through a straw for the first day or two
- Avoid salty, spicy, acidic and very hot food
- Don't brush your teeth over the lip — angle the brush inward
Days 3–10
- Do not pick or peel. Flaking is normal and heavy. Pulling it takes pigment away and leaves patches.
- Keep moisturising constantly
- No lipstick, balm other than what we give you, or makeup on the lips
- No swimming, sauna, steam or heavy sweating
- Avoid kissing while the lips are in the early healing stage
Long term
SPF lip balm daily. UV fades lip pigment faster than any other area we treat.
Healing timeline and colour changes
- Day 1 — swollen and brightLips will be noticeably swollen and the colour far more intense than the final result. This is normal, but the first-day colour and swelling can look much stronger than the healed result.
- Days 2–3 — darkestSwelling reduces. Colour looks its most intense. Keep them moist.
- Days 3–7 — flakingHeavy flaking, more than brows. Lips may look patchy and uneven. Do not pick.
- Days 7–14 — the "ghost" phaseColour looks almost gone. This is the stage people message us in a panic. The pigment is there, under fresh skin.
- Days 14–30 — returnColour comes back gradually, softer and more natural than day one.
- Days 30–45 — healedYour healed result. Expect roughly 40–50% lighter than day one — a bigger drop than brows.
Most people need a second session. Lips take pigment unevenly, and correction work on darker lips almost always needs two passes. Building gradually is kinder to the tissue than doing it all in one sitting.
Terms, conditions and medical notes

Common questions
The things clients ask most
Does it hurt more than brows?
Lips can feel more sensitive than brows because the tissue is thinner and has more nerve endings. Numbing is applied and topped up during the treatment, and most clients describe the sensation as manageable.
Will it look like lipstick?
Not unless you ask for that. The most-requested result is a soft, even wash that reads as good natural lip colour. If you want something more obvious, say so — we can go bolder — we would just suggest starting softer.
My lips are naturally dark. Can you still do this?
Yes, and it's a large part of what we do. Dark or uneven lip tone is neutralised with a corrective layer before colour goes on. Expect two sessions rather than one — building gradually gives a much better result than forcing it.
I get cold sores. Is that a problem?
It's manageable but you must tell us. The procedure can trigger an outbreak even if you haven't had one in years. Speak to your doctor about antiviral medication starting a few days before. Don't leave this until the day.
How much lighter does it heal?
Roughly 40 to 50 percent lighter than day one — a bigger drop than brows. Every photo in our gallery is at 30+ days healed for exactly this reason.
Can I have it with lip filler?
Yes, but not close together. Leave at least four weeks either side. Filler changes lip shape, and we can't map to a shape that's about to change.
How long does it last?
Twelve to twenty-four months. Lips fade faster than brows because of eating, drinking and sun. SPF lip balm makes a real difference.
Will I be able to eat and talk normally afterwards?
Talk, yes, immediately. Eating is awkward for a couple of days — soft food, straws, and nothing salty, spicy or acidic. Swelling is most noticeable on day one.

For the curious
Lip work requires careful colour and technique training
Dark-lip correction requires careful colour theory, pigment selection and gradual layering. The course covers these considerations so students understand how the approach differs from a standard lip-blush treatment.
Lip blushing is covered in our six-day Professional Brow, Lip & Eyeliner programme, alongside brows and Korean eyeliner. A full day is dedicated to lips so there is time to focus on colour selection, correction principles and technique.
Professional Brow, Lip & Eyeliner Embroidery
Six days covering eyebrow, lip and eyeliner, with three supervised post-course sessions included after training.
